St. Mark’s has been contacted by the Birdsboro Food Pantry asking us to participate in an ongoing collection of laundry detergent to help the more than 80 families served by the Pantry. A laundry basket can be found in the narthex of the church to place your purchases of laundry detergent and it will be taken to the Birdsboro Food Pantry as the basket fills up. As you shop for your household supplies, please consider purchasing an additional bottle or box of detergent to help the needy families of Birdsboro.
Bible Study Group:
Starting yesterday, November
1, Pastor Jim hosted the first weekly Bible Study Hour in the
Parlor beginning at 10:00 am. Each week the group will gather to read, study
and discuss the Gospel reading for the coming Sunday. The study group
will last no longer than one hour. You do not need to be a bible expert
or academic scholar to be a part of this group. It is designed for the
average Joe who just wants to learn more about the Gospel through discussion
and dialog. The big question for each week will be, “what does this
Gospel mean to me, today?” Bring your favorite bible with you or use one
from the parlor. Snacks and refreshments will be provided each week.
HOT MEALS FROM A WARM HEART This
ministry continues with 16 volunteers willing to prepare and deliver meals. If
you know of someone who could use a meal contact Judy Colvin (home phone
610-385-1250). When an opportunity comes up Judy will contact a preparer on a rotating basis to arrange providing a
meal at a certain time. Judy will also provide the contact information enabling the preparer to call the recipient a day or
two in advance to
verify the time of delivery and if there are any diet restrictions.
BOYER’S FOOD MARKET CARING AND SHARING KEY TAGS are available in the narthex of the church. If you present the key tag during checkout Boyer’s will give a 1% rebate to St. Mark’s. The money the church receives will go into the Capital Improvement Fund.
STAPLES WILL GIVE US up to $20 a month for used ink cartridges. If you would like to donate your empties, there is a basket under the table in the Narthex.
